Autumn Gala Logo

The Giving Back Committee, chaired by resident Raquel Lubbers, hosted its first annual Autumn Gala fundraising event, benefiting Daybreak to Debre Zeit. More than $5,000 was raised at this elegant evening of gourmet dining, live entertainment, a silent auction, and dancing, to help build a school in our sister community, Debre Zeit, Ethiopia. The South Valley Journal covered the event in a recent article.

August 2010

LiveDAYBREAK and its volunteers partnered with Daybreak resident organizers to host the second annual South Jordan International Days at SoDa Row and the Daybreak Community Center.  This unique cultural event brought folk dancers from around the world to our neighborhood for four days of exciting performances.  The Deseret News covered these activities in a series of full-page articles.

February 2010

D.A.R.E. CheckResident Board Members Zakia Richardson and Anne Marie McDonald presented a $2,000.00 check to the South Jordan City Council and Police Department on February 16, to sponsor the D.A.R.E. program at Daybreak, Eastlake, and Welby Elementary Schools, in support of Healthy Living in our community.  The South Valley Journal  reported on the event in a subsequent issue.
